- Mapzzle is a game. Its maps are simplified for play and are not a reference work.
- One optional purchase unlocks every map pack, permanently, with no subscription.
- Refunds are handled by the App Store or Google Play, not by us.
- Map shapes are built from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors.
These terms apply when you use Mapzzle ("the app"), made by Josep Coll Piferrer ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
1. Using the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Mapzzle on devices you own or control, for your own enjoyment. The app and its contents remain ours or our licensors'.
Please do not copy, resell, reverse engineer or redistribute the app or its map files, use it to break the law, or interfere with our servers — for example by automating bulk downloads. We may withdraw access if you do.
2. The one-time purchase
Mapzzle is free to install and includes a starter pack plus several free map packs. A single optional purchase unlocks every other map pack.
- It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Nothing recurs and nothing is charged again.
- It is tied to your App Store or Google Play account, not to a Mapzzle account — there are no accounts. Use Restore purchases to re-apply it after reinstalling or on another device signed in to the same store account.
- The price shown in the app is the one your store charges in your country, and includes any local taxes the store adds. Prices may differ between countries and may change over time; a change never affects a purchase you already made.
- Unlocking a map pack lets you download and play it. It does not give you rights to the map files themselves beyond playing the game.
Refunds are handled by the store that took your payment, under Apple's or Google's own policies, because we never receive your payment details and cannot process a refund ourselves. If a purchase does not unlock correctly, write to info@mapzzle.com and we will help.
3. Maps, data sources and accuracy
Mapzzle's map shapes are derived from OpenStreetMap data. © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Place names come from the same source.
The maps are simplified for gameplay and are not an authoritative reference. Boundaries are smoothed so the pieces fit together and read clearly on a phone screen; very small territories, islands and enclaves may be merged, simplified or left out entirely; and the divisions a country is split into are chosen to make a playable puzzle rather than to mirror any official administrative structure.
Borders and place names shown in the app are not a statement of any political position on any territorial dispute, and are not intended to endorse any party's claim. They reflect what the underlying open data contained when the map was generated. Do not use Mapzzle for navigation, for any official purpose, or as a source of geographic fact.
If you spot something wrong, please tell us through the in-app feedback form or at info@mapzzle.com.
4. Availability and changes
Map packs are downloaded from our servers, so parts of the app need an internet connection. We may add, change or remove map packs, and we may update or discontinue the app. We try to keep everything working, but we do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
If a map pack you bought access to is removed, your unlock still applies to everything else in the catalogue.
5. Your device and your data
Your progress, best times and settings are stored on your device, not on our servers. Deleting the app deletes them, and we cannot recover them for you. What we do and do not collect is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. No warranty, and limits on liability
Mapzzle is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or loss arising from your reliance on the maps as if they were accurate.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer. In the European Union and the United Kingdom in particular, you keep all rights that cannot be excluded by contract, including rights relating to digital content that is faulty or not as described. Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
7. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update this page and the date at the top. The current version always lives at mapzzle.com/terms. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, and the courts of Spain have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country and may bring proceedings there.
