Questions, problems and map requests

Get in touch

Mapzzle is made by one person, so replies are not instant — but every message is read, and map requests genuinely shape what gets built next.

Purchases

I bought the unlock but the maps are still locked

Open the Maps screen, tap the menu in the top corner and choose Restore purchases. This asks the App Store or Google Play whether your account owns the unlock and re-applies it.

If it still does not unlock, check you are signed in to the same store account you bought it with. Purchases belong to that account, not to your device. If it is still wrong, email info@mapzzle.com and say which store you bought it from and roughly when.

I have a new phone

Install Mapzzle and open it. The unlock is usually restored on its own. If not, use Restore purchases as above.

Your progress and best times are a separate matter: they live on the device, so they do not transfer unless your phone's own backup restores them.

I want a refund

Refunds are handled by the store that took your payment — we never see your payment details and cannot issue one. Use reportaproblem.apple.com for the App Store, or Google Play's order history for Android. If the problem is that something is broken, tell us first and we will try to fix it.

Is it a subscription?

No. One purchase unlocks every map pack permanently. There is nothing to cancel.

Downloads and storage

A map pack will not download

Map packs come from our servers, so a connection is needed. If a download fails, check your connection and try again — partial downloads are discarded and restarted cleanly.

It says there is not enough space

Mapzzle refuses a download that would leave your device almost full. Free up some space, or remove map packs you have finished with: on the Maps screen, a downloaded pack can be removed from the device. Removing a pack keeps your best times and achievements — only the map files are deleted, and you can download it again at any time.

Can I play offline?

Yes, once a pack is downloaded. The starter pack works without any connection at all.

Playing

How do the two modes differ?

Mapzzle has two independent modes. In the jigsaw, you drag pieces from the carousel onto the board until the map is complete. In the quiz, you are asked where a place is and tap the spot. Either can be played on any map you have — neither is a step towards the other.

Can I change the language?

Yes. Settings → Language. Mapzzle is available in 16 languages, and by default it follows your device's language.

A place name looks wrong

Place names come from OpenStreetMap, and the app prefers the name used locally. Some maps generated earlier still show English names; those are corrected as maps are rebuilt. If a name is genuinely wrong, tell us which map and which piece and we will look at it.

A border or shape looks wrong

Map shapes are simplified so pieces fit together and stay readable on a phone. Very small territories and islands are sometimes merged or left out. If something looks clearly wrong rather than merely simplified, please report it — see the note on map accuracy in our terms.

Requesting a map

There are hundreds of map packs, and more are added regularly. If the country or region you want is missing, ask: use Send feedback in the app or email info@mapzzle.com, and say which area and which level of detail — countries, regions, provinces, municipalities. Requests are the main thing that decides what gets built next.

Privacy and data

What the app stores and what we receive is set out in the Privacy Policy. To ask for a copy of your data or have it deleted, write to privacy@mapzzle.com.
