Build the map by hand
In Jigsaw mode the map starts out in pieces. A piece clicks in when it touches the outer border or a neighbor you have already placed, so the map grows from the outside in like a real jigsaw, right up to the last piece.
Mapzzle turns 600 real maps into geography puzzles. Build each one as a jigsaw, or play it as a map quiz and see how many places you can find. The Starter Pack is free, so you can jump straight in.

Two ways to play
Every one of the 600 maps works both ways, and you choose each time you sit down with one.
In Jigsaw mode the map starts out in pieces. A piece clicks in when it touches the outer border or a neighbor you have already placed, so the map grows from the outside in like a real jigsaw, right up to the last piece.
Quiz mode takes all the names off the map, so it comes down to how well you know your geography. The game asks for a place and you press and hold where you think it is. A direct hit gets full points and the biggest fireworks, and a near miss still counts.
Try it here
This is one of the six maps you get for free. Both demos run on this page, with nothing to install. The app adds a timer, hints, stars, a scrolling tray of pieces and 599 more maps.
Same map, other mode
Five questions on the map you just built. Press and hold where you think each place is. In the app you can put a 10 second clock on every question, and a fast answer pays more.
600 maps
Warm up with the continents or the countries of Europe, then take on Japan's 47 prefectures, every state in Brazil or all 2,477 municipalities of Mexico. Before long you will point to Mato Grosso without a second thought.
The small things
Maps you have downloaded play with no signal at all, on a train or a plane.
Close the app halfway through a map and it is still waiting, pieces and all.
Open the guide map, or ask for a hint that flashes where the piece in your hand goes.
They change how close is close enough, whether you are placing a piece or answering a question.
Each one comes with its own color palettes, from paper cut to neon.
Every map keeps your best time, best score and stars, and there are 62 achievements to collect.
Your free maps include the US states, London's boroughs and the Caribbean islands. You pay once to unlock the rest, plus every map added later. There are no subscriptions and no ads.
